Beacon Resources, with the creative influences of all of the State regulatory organizations and Federal agencies, developed the Dam Safety Program Management Tools (DSPMT) software. This progam can be used to provide simple, unbiased data that are useful separately and/or collectively to evaluate how well dam safety programs are being implemented at the National, State and/or Federal Agency level. These tools have proven to be very effective in providing local information for National data collection efforts and were used in 2002, 2005 and 2008 to provide dam inventory information to the National Inventory of Dams, were used annually from 2003 to present for providing dam safety program performance measure information to the NDSRB, and have been used since 2004 to collect performance measure information and dam safety deficiency and remediation priority information for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer’s inventory of dams. The DSPMT was used extensively by the States, Federal Agencies, and the Corps of Engineers from 2000 to 2009. In 2010, a decision was made to move from a desktop-based software platform using an underlying Access database to a web-based software platform based on an Oracle database. The State program performance measure information is now being collected directly by ASDSO utilizing Excel worksheets. The DSPMT became obsolete. However, some individuals and organizations have indicated a desire to continue utilizing the DSPMT for some of it's unique tools and capabilities. The following links provide installation files, the latest executable, and latest database structures for those organizations.
Download the above files when simply updating to the latest version of the executable. It is not anticipated that any new changes will be going into the desktop version, but if they do the changes will be reflected in these files. Simply overwrite the file that is in c:/Program Files/DSPMT or on the network drive to implement the changes.
Save the above file to any location on your c drive, then execute it to run the installation file. Ignore any registry errors during setup, the errors only mean that the component being installed is already on your computer. The database is not included due to not wanting to overwrite your existing inventory. After installation, be sure to link to the existing database as a network file by modifying MsDSPMT.env. MsDSPMT.env should contain the network path to the existing database.
