| December 3-5, 2001: Dam Break Software Installation &
Training III;
Oklahoma City, Ok. The entire staff of Beacon Resources was at the State of
Oklahoma Water Resources Board installing Dam Breach Analysis/ Inundation
Mapping software, providing training, and evaluating program performance.
Significant capability improvements were made to the Dam Break software by
allowing valley cross-sections to be digitized at any orientation relative
to the valley centerline. |
| November 5-9, 2001: Dam Break Software Installation &
Training II;
Oklahoma City, Ok.
The entire staff of Beacon Resources was at the State of
Oklahoma Water Resources Board installing Dam Breach Analysis/ Inundation
Mapping software, providing training, and evaluating program performance.
Significant capability improvements were made by allowing gridded terrain
data from ArcView to be triangulated and used by the program for cutting
valley cross-sections. Oklahoma City was much cooler (70 Degrees) than the last time we were
there in July (103 Degrees). |
| October 15-18, 2001: Channel Patrol on the MV Strong
The entire staff of Beacon Resources was on
the MV Strong discussing the unique requirements and workflows of the
Memphis District in performing their channel patrol functions.

| October 3-4, 2001: NID Electronic Submittal
Training; Springfield, Va.
There was an NID Electronic Submittal Training class on October 3-4
at the Kingman Building of the Humphrey Engineering Center at TEC in Alexandria, Va.
This class included participants from the States of Maryland and Vermont,
and Federal Agencies included the Bureau of Reclamation, the Fish &
Wildlife Service, and the International Boundaries and Water Commission. |
| September 17-20, 2001: NID Electronic Submittal
Training; Ft. Belvoir, Va.
There was an NID Electronic Submittal Training class on Sept. 18,
19 at the Humphrey Engineering Center at TEC in Alexandria, Va. This
class was targeted to the special requirements and data characteristics of
Federal Agencies. |
| September 9-13, 2001: Association of State Dam Safety
Officials (ASDSO) Annual Conference; Snowbird, Utah
The entire staff of Beacon Resources was in attendance at the ASDSO
annual conference performing demonstrations in the exhibit area, providing
NID Electronic Submittal Workflow Training in the NID Suite, and
presenting a technical paper on the utility of Palm Computing Software for
Dam Safety Inspection Checklists.

| July 30-August 2, 2001: U.S. Society on Dams (USSD)
Annual Conference and Lecture; Denver, Co.
The entire staff of Beacon Resources was in attendance at the USSD
Annual Conference participating in demonstrations and presentations of the
latest developments in the Dam Safety Program Management Tools (DSPMT)
software including the Dam Safety Program Performance Measures (DSPPM),
National Inventory of Dams (NID) electronic submittal workflow, and the
DSPMT Palm-based Inspection Checklist software.

| July 16-18, 2001: Dam Break Software Installation &
Training;
Oklahoma City, Ok.
The entire staff of Beacon Resources was on-site at the State of
Oklahoma Water Resources Board installing Dam Breach Analysis/ Inundation
Mapping software and providing training. Although it was very hot
(103 Deg.), both the installation and training went well, and we are
looking forward to going back to Oklahoma City for final installation and
training soon. |
| May 21-24, 2001: U.S. Hydro 2001; Norfolk, Va.
The Beacon Resources booth in the Exhibit hall was a center of activity
with software demonstrations being conducted as conference participants
stopped by for information. Our presentation on intelligent
thinning of mass data sets was well received by all except certain USACE
personnel making faces during the presentation. With friends like
these...
