Beacon's Geodetic calculator provides an MDL-based interactive capability for performing geodetic calculations from Geographic Latitude/Longitude to projected Easting/Northing coordinates in either NAD 27 or NAD 83 datums.  NOTE- This calculator does NOT use CORPSCON algorithms for performing the datum shift and will not exactly duplicate CORPSCON results.  This application uses multiple regression equations for performing the datum shift and will generate results that are typically within one foot of CORPSCON results.

            Interface controls allow specification of the output units (Meters, International Feet, or Survey Feet), datum, and projection.  Available datums are NAD27 and NAD83.  Available projections include Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) and specific State plane coordinates.  State plane coordinate systems included are Oklahoma, Tennessee, Mississippi West, Louisiana South, Louisiana North, Arkansas South, and Arkansas North.  Whenever a coordinate calculation is performed, the coordinate location is shown graphically on the MicroStation display.

            This program also provides a batch conversion capability for converting a Tennessee state plane (NAD 83) ASCII file of Easting/Northing/Elevation coordinates to an output ASCII file  in either NAD27 or NAD83 in UTM or state plane coordinates.
