One of Beacon
Resources primary areas of emphasis is the development of customized
MicroStation Development Language (MDL) applications. MDL is the
mechanism for incorporating value-added enhancements into the basic
Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD)
capabilities provided by MicroStation.
Our Customized MDL applications are primarily engineering- oriented applications as opposed to architectural applications. Please use the "Free MDL Apps" link on the left to download and check out our free MDL applications as examples of the types of programs which we have developed. Beacon Resources also develops and markets affordable commercial MDL applications which provide useful functionality not provided by MicroStation. Many of these applications are useful by AE Contractors for quality control/quality assurance checks of submittal data, or by photogrammetry firms for extracting specific information of interest from design files, or for automatically performing specific functions on design files which have been digitized from aerial photography.
