The Dam Safety Program Management Tools (DSPMT) Pocket PC-based dam safety inspection checklist software consists of a flexible implementation of the Georgia and Nebraska DNR’s paper dam safety inspection checklists.  This inspection checklist implementation features the capability to record audio comments for each individual checklist question.  When the Pocket PC is synchronized with the desktop, the audio files are automatically transferred to the desktop computer.  When the desktop software is run and the inspection checklist reviewed, the audio comments can be played back and transcribed into text comments using the full size keyboard on the desktop computer.  Excel spreadsheets or Word documents can be generated that document the results and findings of the inspection.
