Detection of Need/Revetment Design:

Beacon's IntelliThin Windows-based program is utilized for intelligent thinning of sweep survey and multibeam survey massive data sets.  Triangulation is provided using either Beacon's 'Fast' triangulation or Delaunay Triangulation algorithms.

Beacon's MDL-based Automated Annuals Comparison Program compares multiple surfaces, showing range lines where scouring is present.  This allows the analyst to determine where revetments are needed.

Revetment Design allows the analyst to perform the design on a range line by range line basis using established rules for determining the top bank, inshore, and outshore limits.  Revetments are designed for either new construction, maintenance, reinforcement, paving-only, or upstream/downstream extensions.

Mat Sinking Operations:

MSU Field Layout/As-builting allows an operator on the Mat Sinking Unit to translate the revetment design into individual mats and launches.  Tools are provided for selecting each alignment prior to mat placement and sending that alignment to the signs computer so that the perpendicular offset from planned alignment can be displayed to barge positioning persons.  As each mat is laid, the program allows an as-built representation of the mat location and orientation to be added to the design file.

MSU Signs Controller Program - Beacon's signs controller program uses inputs from two differentially corrected GPS receivers and the planned alignment from the field layout/as-builting program to compute perpendicular offset from the planned alignment at the front (Head) and rear (Stern) of the mooring barge.  These perpendicular offsets are then display on large digital display signs on-deck so that winchmen can correctly control the mat position and orientation.
