The Government-Standard SEMMS provides powerful
software tools for importing, managing, querying, and exporting survey
monumentation data using user-friendly alphanumeric interfaces.
Our SEMMS Viewer, SEMMSView, provides a graphic window
into the SEMMS monumentation database. Regardless of the original
coordinate system used for inputting the monuments into the SEMMS
database, they can be displayed in their correct geographic location in
the coordinate system of any displayed viewer file. For example, monuments
put into SEMMS in UTM zones 15 and 16 in NAD 83, can be correctly
displayed on a viewer file in State Plane NAD 27. Geodetic conversions and
coordinate calculations are provided by integral Government-Standard
CORPSCON source code software. Only those monuments within the viewing
window are displayed and are shown in the list of monuments. Additional
search criteria can be defined for monument discriminator, quality, type,
vertical accuracy, vertical origin, horizontal accuracy, and owner.
Wildcard queries based upon monument name are also allowed.
Monuments satisfying the search criteria are shown in
the list of monuments and are graphically shown on the view using Corps of
Engineers standard monumentation symbology for 1D, 2D, and 3D monuments.
Monuments may be selected from either the graphic view, or from the list.
If a monument is selected from the graphic view, its position in the list
is highlighted. The same is true the other way around. When a monument is
selected, it's details are shown in the text box at the bottom of the
interface.
